Feel free to add, remove, strike or object any of the to-do's below, but remember to discuss controversial topics here. --Victor D PARLE 18:54, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

To be added[edit]

  • The article should speak about:
    • "new materials" of "biotechnological origin" i.e. Biomaterials
    • "Biotechnology in alimentation" i.e. cheese, wine, vinegar or sauerkraut
    • Biotechnology as a future alternative to petroleum, i.e. Biofuels, plastics from plant origin
    • Biotechnology criticism (antitrangenics, antiabortists)
    • Ecological repercusion: Bioremediation, plants that needs (less deforestation), new sources of paper...
  • Additional sourcing is needed. Current sourcing is spotty at best.

Use of biotechnology.

when has this article last been updated? 2008?!?[edit]

I am reading this article in May 2013 and it states "Revenue in the industry is expected to grow by 12.9% in 2008".

Could someone qualified make at least 5 individual sentences from this...[edit]

... "one fullstop" unreadable monster?:

Biotechnology is the research and development in the laboratory using bioinformatics for exploration, extraction, exploitation and production from any living organisms and any source of biomass by means of biochemical engineering where high value-added products could be planned (reproduced by biosynthesis, for example), forecasted, formulated, developed, manufactured and marketed for the purpose of sustainable operations (for the return from bottomless initial investment on R & D) and gaining durable patents rights (for exclusives rights for sales, and prior to this to receive national and international approval from the results on animal experiment and human experiment, especially on the pharmaceutical branch of biotechnology to prevent any undetected side-effects or safety concerns by using the products).

or simply delete it because it's redundant?! ; -) thx a lot for your help in advance! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.49.64.249 (talk) 20:42, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

One article needed[edit]

'Biotechnology industry in India' artilce is needed. I would request to the editors of this article to look into it if possible. Thanks in advance. --Abhijeet Safai (talk) 09:35, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

revisions today[edit]

Just read this today. There was a lot of unsourced, essay like content here (somewhat promotional, like straight outta BIO), and for the most part this article was not in dialogue with the other closely related articles in WP. Went through and trimmed a lot, added sources and content and wikilinks to related articles. Hope it is seen as improvement but in any case I am happy to discuss.
