Use of acronym "NFBR" for North Fork of the Blackwater River[edit]

This acronym is used only on this web site. A Google search of the term "NFBR" shows no other use of this acronym to represent the Blackwater River (West Virginia). A review of literature of WV state parks, forests, and national forests reveals no use of this acronym. The use of this acronym in the article deters from effective reading of the article and is original research made up just for this article. WVhybrid (talk) 02:27, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Unless the acronym is widely known or used (such as MNF for Monongahela National Forest), it should not be used. Even if it is a widely known acronym, it needs to be clearly introduced and identified. The practice of simply conjuring up abbreviations needs to stop. References, Rehabilitation and Recreational Use[edit]

I wanted to know more about the smaller, more successful of the 2 projects that is being used to rehabilitate the river, for several reasons. It is always heartening to learn of simple, cost-effective processes that work well, especially when government contracts and tax dollars could be at stake. I also wanted to know if the waters are safe for swimming, since the only mention of possible recreational use is the class of white water rapids. But the link to footnote no. 17 is broken. I have not read any other river articles, but shouldn't rehabilitation and recreational use be separate headings? Beadmatrix (talk) 12:03, 29 January 2012 (UTC)Beadmatrix[reply]
