[edit] Directions

Nice to see our near neighbours have got decent travel directions to their ground, saved me hours of trying to find it on Boxing Day. Great game, by the way despite the absence of goals. user:sjc

You have your own suggestion on Football/Standard for football club information to thank for that. Glad to hear you enjoyed it; I was elsewhere on family duty at the time. --rbrwr

Removed Adam Green and Mark McCammon from squad list as they won't be offered deals. Shame in McCammon's case as his timing could have done with some work. But we have Showunmi now instead :D - Sephjnr, 13/6

[edit] Home Kit

Is it just my rubbish computer, or is the picture of the home kit on Wikipedia black, not red? Does anyone else have this problem?

I think that may be your computer, looks fine to me Matt101 05:50, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

My work computer shows it up as black too, but it's red on the one at home. Strange. Alf X. Smith 18:38, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Does anyone think it is necessary to have last seasons (2006-07) home kit on the mainpage as we are in the 2007-08 season now? I think it seems a bit pointless now. Matt101 18:02, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Louis Carey

Carey was indeed born in Bristol, but the official site lists him as Scottish - he has Scottish grandparents and has a Scotland U-21 cap. So should he go down as English or Scottish? --rbrwr± 21:57, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Can he be listed as both? He does still qualify for England. Paddy 12:15, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Louis is definitely English regardless of qualifying to play for Scotland. He never did play a full cap for them so should definitely be listed as English.

[edit] Block on Editing?

Guys, I think we may need a block on editing on both the main Bristol City page and players' pages as there has been needless vandalism on those pages in the past few days. Matt101 17:39, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Good idea. It's not fun having to spend the best part of an evening undoing all of that mindless vandalism. Who do we go to about this? Alf X. Smith 18:22, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Following BCFC's promotion, there seems to a couple of well-intentioned but rather un-wiki contributors. Please keep an eye on this - it is why this article only has a B-rating. DanMatthewsUK 07:12, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

We finally have a semi-protected page! Also, many pages need photographs of players is many seem dull, any ideas? Matt101 15:02, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Seeing how we can't use any pics from the offical site, do you think photos taken by fans would be acceptable? Alf X. Smith 18:06, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

How about a pic of Ashton Gate with the new seating, there are a couple posted on OTIB which we can use. Dargla 21:19, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

If anyone reads this, I think we need another block on vandalism on the page as it seems to have been vandalized a lot recently. Anyone agree? Matt101 18:04, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia

Don't remove items from this or any other section without reason please, unless it's obvious vandalism. Thank you. DanMatthewsUK 12:55, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Moved the trivia to renamed section colours, crest, mascot and anthem, added links - in accordance with Wiki style on not having such lists. Jezhotwells (talk) 20:55, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] "Nickname" the Robins

Im sorry but how is there nickname The Shit?No offence but how edit this? Please find the real name.--Someguyudontknow 22:39, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Yes, That is the correct name —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.72.70.114 (talk) 00:35, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Category:Bristol City F.C. players

Should Category:Bristol City F.C. players include players who played for Bedminster F.C. prior to the merger? (e.g. Albert Flewitt) I've assumed it should but I'm not sure if there's any precedent for this. --Jameboy (talk) 00:06, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] ashton gate

can i take the ashton gate section out of the bristol city page, seeing as it has its own page anyway? 91.108.69.157 (talk) 16:46, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

I would say it shouldn't be removed, considering all featured football club articles appear to have a section stadium. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:59, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Not sure who put AG's capacity at over 31,000! It's 21,497 and I'll amend it now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.45.128.185 (talk) 09:40, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Doherty

I undid 82.46.36.82's edit [1] because it broke the Dziekanowski link. I could add Doherty back in, but shouldn't he be given the flag of Northern Ireland, rather than Ireland? And if he's in League 2 with Wycombe does he belong on the list...? --rbrwr±

Doherty is on the Notable former players list as he's a N. Ireland international. Feel free to add him back in. Matt101 (talk) 19:10, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
OK, done. -rbrwr± 09:32, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mascot Pic

I'm pretty sure that isn't a pic of Scrumpy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.120.161.6 (talk) 16:57, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Belated reply, what makes you think that? Jezhotwells (talk) 22:15, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] GA status

Anyone interested in pushing for GA status? Jezhotwells (talk) 22:15, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Squad table format

A discussion is being held here on the possibility of rolling out a new squad template. The new template, named {{football squad player2}}, differs from the standard squad layout in several ways:

  • It features a sort function
  • Comes in a single column format that can be understood by screen readers.
    • Single column format ensures that low resolution browsers, including mobile devices, do not get part or all of the second column cut off.
    • Single column format ensures less clutter, particularly at lower resolutions, for wide sections such as the Arsenal loan section.
  • It gives nationality its own column; at present flags are featured in a blank, untitled column
  • It complies with Wikipedia's guidance on flag usage.
  • It leaves enough space to add images of current players, an example of which can be seen at Watford F.C#Current squad.

It is proposed that the new template be added to some of Wikipedia's most high-profile club articles, which might include Bristol City F.C.. To give your thoughts, please read and contribute to the discussion at WikiProject Football.
