Movie shoot in Montreal[edit]

'at the Memorial chapter house of the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity.' The source footnoted does not support this clause. Seems like vandalism. Jrgilb (talk) 04:34, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Or maybe just the writer can't put words on a page. The whole thing is a mess. cheers Billyshiverstick (talk) 18:55, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disastrous writing[edit]

Hi - whoever wrote this article seems to have rushed through at light speed cribbing off a press release. Considering that it was likely the filmakers, you would do yourself a service to have somebody clean it up. As a volunteer, I don't want to make time for what is at this point part of your commercial responsibility to your backers. sheesh! Awful stuff. QMUL STUDENTS[edit]

We are a group of students working on an assignment User:gcsim2 User:Pippaager User:Ruby369 User:Adriana17253 User:Stefanoskostaneinos

User:Adriana17253 I think the page is missing the historical context section. I would go through academic sources in order to add a paragraph on Irish Immigration of 1860-1930 still keeping it relevant to the film.

Adriana17253 (talk) 12:51, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User:Pippaager I think the page needs to reference the original book, I plan to glean similarities in the representation of the plight of an Irish emigrant by writer Colm Toibin and director John Crowley. Pippaager (talk) 12:56, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User:Ruby369 I plan to provide well-cited information on the historical context of the film involving Irish citizens immigrating to Brooklyn in the 1950s. I will link this to the characters and how the historical background of that time period may have influenced their actions in the film. Ruby369 (talk) 12:57, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User:gcsim2 In terms of referencing the original book, I think it is important to reference it's popularity; such as awards won, to communicate why it was able to be made into a film. gcsim2 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 11:27, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
