Episode Count[edit]

I can't find any evidence of the 443 episodes this article claims. The Chapman archive has 345 episodes of California's Gold. https://blogs.chapman.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/25/2014/05/HH-Show-List.pdf

The KQED broadcast schedule archive that goes back to Sep 1997 does not contain any episode titles that are not found on the Chapman site. Here is the link to KQED's archive: https://kqed.org/tv/programs/archive/index.jsp?pgmid=2373&date=19980101

The second most complete list I could find is on TheTVDB: https://thetvdb.com/?tab=seasonall&id=279999&lid=7

I believe the season numbers are incorrect on TheTVDB, and there are not 443 episodes and there are no episodes that are not in the Chapman list. The existing source for the 443 number had a reference to https://www.kcet.org/shows/californias-gold-with-huell-howser, a page that does not have an episode count.

Accuracy[edit]

I've made a number of edits in an effort to improve the accuracy of the article, which the IP above repeatedly removes. I'm not sure where he/she is getting their facts, but some of what's been in there is grossly inaccurate. For example: PBS never carried CG. Howser shopped the show to individual public television stations in California, hoping handful would pick it up. Far more than a handful did, and he proudly proclaimed the show was carried by California public television stations in the credits. Moreover, KCET eventually left PBS, but Howser remained with them and they continued to produce CG. (I'm trying to find a decent source for this in the LA Times archives, then will add it to the article.) Similarly, he/she lists the episodes as 22 minutes, but they were either 30 or 60, as public television has no commercials. And then there is the listing Howser something like 8-10 times in the infobox, including as director, although the show only credits him as writer and producer, with no director credited. I've made the corrections again, along with adding some information, and hope this is an end of it. --Drmargi (talk) 20:41, 22 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Drmargi: I'm a little concerned by this user's edits as well, particularly the restoration of problems that had previously been fixed. I assume the user is doing what they think is right, but the net result is disruptive if other editors have to keep fixing things. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:50, 22 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sentence missing some words?[edit]

I cannot figure out what this sentence means:

"The decision to donate them grew out his experiences making an episode of the show."

Is there maybe a missing preposition? Or two? Gil (talk) 14:35, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
