Clean up[edit]

This article needs serious help. Current content resembles disambiguous page with serious errors. As this does not fit the temples for disambiguous I propose the article be expanded using dictionary sources and seeking sources to cite for historical use in addition to the heavily influence of RPG elements contained on the page. Some original research I have done seems to point to a few latin roots for the term "Cantrip" Cantu Tropos literally meaning song of change. (see musical terms such as Cantor for use of root cant- to mean music or song and Tropos as a root for Trope (Trope (linguistics)).) However, there seems to be not treatment to cite to indicate the accuracy of this research. Wikipedia policy cites that 1st person and research material inappropriate for articles. In doing additional research I find that I have located additional resources in which the word Cantrip has been used in the 20th Century prior to the onset of desktop role-playing games. News paper clipping for example using the word Cantrip as a sort of trick compared to Orsen Wells' Time Machine. http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/paperspast?a=d&d=TO19041015.2.3.2MichaelJPierce (talk) 14:14, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
