This article covers the bases admirably. It does not exaggerate the Thomas family's significance. Some of the phrasing is quaint but well within Wiki bounds. I hope no officious person will try to turn the sometimes soulful prose into plain vanilla. That would really be inappropriate, given the racially-charged topic.
