2005-2006 exterior renovation[edit]

If anyone can find citations on the restoration of the exterior, please post it. They restored the elaborate, multi-layered ironwork above the first floor and on the entrance rotunda. Elmslie[edit]

As to my change,Elmslie developed his style under the philosophical and actual tutelage of Sullivan, Sullivan gave extensive instructions as to the scroll work, referencing his own previous work, and Elmslie himself admits his great debt to Sullivan. This is like Wright taking credit for Sullivan's work. Controversial topic, not settled at all. They were his draftsmen and he was open to their input. The way this was stated gave way too much credit to Elmslie and featured too prominently. See Sify pp 147 et seq.
