Needs improvement[edit]

A cataract isn't another name for a waterfall, or, at least, this is contrary to how I've ever head it. Some narrow and smallish holes in the ground, like miniature slot canyons, that rivers (and sometimes waterfalls) pass through are cataracts.

The disambiguation page for cataract calls it a type of waterfall, and clicking this link goes to an article about waterfalls that barely mentions cataracts. That (incorrectly, I'm almost certain) identifies a cataract as a type of waterfall, and it's listed basically as a really big one.

I came here wondering why it is that some channels through large stone slabs and boulders are called cataracts. Not only did I not get my answer, but, if I took I read here things seriously, I would have less knowledge now than before I came.

Somebody who can stand the politics of Wikipedia editing and all the page ownership issues should fix this. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.91.201.209 (talk) 21:07, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
