Craftsman Al O'Dea[edit]

He's mentioned in the article. He's also mentioned in a Dáil Debate: Senator Lydon already referred to the [1409] need to have cushion seats. I remember a time when one superb craftsman in Tuam, who is now out of business, called Al O'Dea, was supplying furniture to half the restaurants in the country. He did not supply padded seats, but what he supplied was elegant furniture of a high quality and a high standard. Somebody decided that it was a good idea to put cushions under people's backsides and, therefore, make it a regulation. and elswehere: Grant Taylor has been a professional woodworker since 1975. He studied in the United States with master woodcarver Art Ritchie of Keene, New Hampshire, and in Connemara, Ireland with furniture master Al O'Dea. Notable? An "iconoclastic outburst"...[edit]

The section Re-ordering included following paragraph:

An iconoclastic outburst in 1979 saw the destruction of the original baldachino, transept altars, pulpit and altar rails. A further effort was made in 1991, under the direction of Ray Carroll, to demolish the high altar and implant a misplaced faux roodscreen, which succeeded in obscuring the lower part of O'Connor's window. The great Lion of the West lies beneath all this, his crypt in-filled with the rubble of his own creation. One commentator described the overall present effect as reminiscent of a set for a re-run of Snow White and the seven dwarfs.

While I can perfectly understand that some people are upset regarding these changes, this violates NPOV (see the section Impartial tone). I do not mind if published criticisms are covered by this article – but then we need proper citations and not hearsay of the type "One commentator described..." which can no longer be verified.
