Relabeling as mountain[edit]

I propose that all referrals in the article to Cerro Romauldo as a "hill" be changed to "mountain". At 1,300 feet in elevation, Cerro Romauldo already satisfies the opinion of many people that eminences greater than 1,000 feet in elevation are mountains rather than hills. At least as importantly, Cerro Romauldo has considerable topographic prominence -- it rises about 1,000 feet above the immediately surrounding terrain; it is also detached from all other nearby peaks, and is steep from all approaches. In short, Cerro Romauldo looks like a mountain. Unless someone makes a compelling argument to the contrary, I'll change all references of "hill" to "mountain", to suit. Finally corrected the use of "hill" to "mountain", to refer to Cerro Romualdo. The article on "hills" states "Geographers historically regarded mountains as hills greater than 1,000 feet (304.8 meters) above sea level..." and at 1,300 feet, Cerro Romualdo certainly qualifies. Misspelled everywhere in article[edit]

The correct spelling of the name is "Cerro Romualdo", not "Cerro Romauldo". Most other sources spell it correctly, going back to the 1861 United States Supreme Court case, United States v. Wilson, 66 U.S. 267. The name "Romualdo" belonged to a Chumash man who received the land grant from Pio Pico in 1846; this grant was titled "La Huerta de Romualdo" (approximately "the garden of Romualdo").
