comment with no heading[edit]

I beleve that this page should not be deleted because it does show that this organisation is indeed important and has much infulence over hundreds of Australian schools . —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bruny Islander (talkcontribs) 10:08, 21 August 2008

Disputed information[edit]

Chess Kids should not be categorised as an "educational institution", the category that it currently holds. It should also not be stated that this is a "chess organisation", as it has been described, which gives the impression it is a enthusiasts' or not-for-profit chess competition. It is in fact a private company called Chess Kids Pty Ltd (ABN 43 118 087 871). It is set up to market and sell chess products for the profit of its shareholders. The company is currently engaged in attracting people to invest in franchises in this business. It is also affiliated with the bookstore and equipment retailer ChessWorld. The article appears to be set up to give a different impression of Chess Kids Pty Ltd than what it really is. --Lester 00:51, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If the article is incorrect, you are welcome to improve it by adding new information with reliable sources. Personally, I don't know much about the company, though based on the articles I've seen, they do appear to sponsor tournaments that benefit the children who compete. If they also make some money doing so, that doesn't seem like a problem. On the other hand, if the article is inaccurate, more information would be welcome. --Jack-A-Roe (talk) 01:54, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
