Re-constructing the article[edit]

I've hit a dead end as to what to do with the existing content without deleting too much. I have settled on the general format, to bring it in line with other bus chassis pages (this article has far more information to work with, which is why I'm taking care to not change too much too fast.

Things that need to be figured out:

In order to get rid of any OR tags...is there any places to reference the content already here?
There is a Chevy equivalent...I just think it would be a good idea to figure out what its specific name is...in the long run, maybe this page can include both.
As far as the engines go, I can't really figure out what was offered when...looking them up on here doesn't reveal too much. Are there any being left out?

Working on this could be the start of something good...

I wonder why there are no Blue Bird CV200s being operated by the SSRB?[edit]

S-Series until 1978, not B-Series[edit]

Mostly based on Chevrolet and GMC brochures (*) and on Donald E. Meyer's First Century of GMC Truck History:

No B-Series reference appears in GM documents until the 1979 model year. All previous buses were promoted as S-Series:
- from 1952 onward for the GMC models;
- from 1960 onward for the Chevrolet ones.
The 1966 GMC S-Series buses were still based on the 1960-66 medium-duty C-Series;
The 1967-69 GMC S-Series buses were based on the E-Series, i.e. the 1966-68 medium-duty trucks (92" BBC) which used the same cab and front face as the H/J-Series;
The E-Series being replaced by the medium-duty C-Series (96" BBC) in 1969, the shool buses gained this new basis in 1970;
As explained in Chevrolet's mid-1984 brochure, the new front end was introduced in January 1984.

English is not my mother tongue, so I hesitate modifying a whole page. I can try to rewrite it as draft/subpage of my user's page, but it will certainly need a lot of corrections...

Agreed Although the article linked in the post has been of great benefit towards advancing the content of this article (among others), there are still a few things that probably need to be cleared up from when this article was first written back in 2006. For the most part, this article is only written about examples from 1966 onward.

However, it looks like the corrections can made to the page gradually; no page moves needed. --SteveCof00 (talk) 11:13, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
