Geeks Radio[edit]

Geeks Radio is not related to Chris Pirillo any longer. I'm the former Director of Programming (for Geeks Radio) and am currently a hop in his chatroom. Anyways, they are no longer related to Chris Pirillo. Just, thought I'd try to let you guys know. I'm a big fan of Wikipedia, but I don't really know how to use it, so I apologize if I've done this incorrectly. Swordofdestiny (talk) 18:48, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

That's not his phone number at all. onekopaka (talk) 09:51, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Coffee[edit]

I took out the referance to coffee. When I was a guest on the Chris Prillo show I showed him this entry and he told me that he does not drink coffee any more. Jake of 8bitjoystick.com

TechTV Termination[edit]

Chris was reportedly terminated from TechTV after he had accepted a job from Microsoft to work on their Windows Longhorn project. Rather than resigning from TechTV, he began slacking and using foul language on live broadcasts, prompting the management to bring in Leo Laporte to replace him. Eventually his behavior had the desired effect; rather than accept a demotion to an off-camera position, he quit or was summarily asked to leave. See [1] There are other versions to this story, but I don't don't think they have much credibility.   Quicksilver 23:57, 5 October 2005 (UTC)

He Graduated from the University of Iowa[edit]

Clearly states it on his blog.

The blog is wrong! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Magnus Nothus (talkcontribs) 01:41, 17 November 2005

He Graduated from the University of NORTHERN Iowa[edit]

Chris is a 1998 alumnus of the University of Northern Iowa. Do a Google search and see for yourself: Google Search.

University of Iowa VS University of Northern Iowa[edit]

I will call in his radio show this thursday and ask but according to his official bio and him he says it is University of Iowa. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 8bitJake (talkcontribs) 19:56, 13 December 2005

University of Northern Iowa it is then. My bad — Preceding unsigned comment added by 8bitJake (talkcontribs) 21:14, 13 December 2005

There was a previous marriage[edit]

I remember the name "Cat Pirillo."

He was married to Gretchen[2] until sometime in 2003, Chris mentioned their breakup on his blog on Dec 13 2003[3]. quack 20:04, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

He also maintains the webiste www.rentmychest.com where he collects money for ad space on a digital picture of his chest —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.96.232.29 (talk) 03:26, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Content Removed?[edit]

Did this edit[[4]] remove good content? Matt (Talk) 05:01, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Yes, I think so.

91.105.97.201's Edit[edit]

It seems this person's edit removed all info about Chris Pirillo being married before. He may not like having information about his failed marriages, but it should still be included in his wikipedia page. Shame on whoever removed that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.78.163.32 (talk) 17:48, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Biography[edit]

Where Chris Pirillo Lives: Consider adding a citation to this site which further confirms the fact that he lives in Issaquah, WA. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.53.126.50 (talk) 11:54, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

The citation clearly shows that he lives in Issaquah, not Seattle. Edited for accuracy.

To be changed from
Pirillo majored in English education at the University of Northern Iowa. Chris currently lives near Seattle, Washington with his two dogs Wicket and Pixie, who are the namesakes of the bots on the http://live.pirillo.com IRC chat room.

On 26th July 2009 (Pirillo's Birthday), #chrispirillo trended 2nd on the micro-blogging site Twitter. His fans tweeted with the hash tag #chrisprillo since it was Pirillo's birthday wish as requested on http://live.pirillo.com. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Technical08 (talkcontribs) 18:11, 26 July 2009

Declined. Not covered by reliable, third-party sources, and thus not relevant to the biography. We generally do not cover or include information about activity on social networking sites unless it's been verified by an independent source as noteworthy. Steven Walling (talk) 18:18, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
Well I'm sure that Chris would be a reliable source, ask him! I asked him before I originally put it up and he said that would be ok and thanks. Well his email is chris@pirillo.com so why don't you email him. Technical08 (talk) 13:22, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
You should read Wikipedia:Reliable sources; as Steven Walling said, this most definitely does qualify. ~ Amory (usertalkcontribs) 14:24, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Meh. So I'm not aloud to publish what really happened even though there are hundreds of people who can verify. I thought Wikipedia was the "Free Encyclopedia". Does that mean price or free to edit. As seen, Wikipedia doesn't match up to its expectations. Maybe Twitter is a third-party source, go as them for proof. http://www.flickr.com/photos/lockergnome/3762161995/ ~ Technical08 (talk) 12:11, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
You are free to edit here, but your contributions need to conform to Wikipedia policies. Your request amounts to inserting original research, which isn't allowed. All facts in Wikipedia need to be verifiable using reliable sources. Read "What wikipedia is not", especially the section titled "Wikipedia is not a publisher of original thought" for a better understanding. Thanks, Celestra (talk) 15:14, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Important note[edit]

At Chris Pirillo's request, information has been taken out of his article about his Divorces. He justify's this because he claims that most of the article was about his divorces. This is a completly reasonable request and I feel it should be honoured. I am however aware that this decision could be considered, "Non-wikipedia," Because of this i'd like all users to remeber the rules of the encyclopedia. ESPECIALY the 3RR. I firmly believe that we should respect this mans wishes... I also believe that any dispute over this should be settled here... NOT in edit wars... Im not signed in, but my account is mczack26, I shall have this page and the article page watched. I would also like to mention, im not trying to be high and mighty, i am however trying to encourage good practice over bad behavior

--90.197.187.148 (talk) 18:27, 27 July 2009 (UTC) (user:mczack26)

Yeah, I don't think it is really up to him to decide that. I'm sure other people in the limelight don't want their social spectrum's discussed in public. If he can post it on his blog (which probably gets more views that this page) then it is fine to be here.

59.167.208.24 (talk) 00:04, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

But the problem with the article is that it was dominated by the fact that he had split with his wife, which is jst stupid, thus it was taken out. Tbh, I don't even rember if it was me who actually took it out... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.206.74.246 (talk) 21:23, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Since when does the subject of an article get to edit the content? They have personal blogs where they can say whatever they want. Objectivity is always the goal, and a person has a right to factual information in their article, nothing more, nothing less.Landroo (talk) 18:59, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

health problems?[edit]

"Chris is going to quit up streaming live video do to his health problems and may stop going online all together." This doesn't look true, the last part of the sentence makes it look like a troll. 72.78.174.106 (talk) 20:30, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

His blog website looks down[edit]

Right now, http://chris.pirillo.com/ returns "404 Not Found" on all pages. At least it looks that way. At least the first two pages of Google hits are missing. - Paradrop (talk) 16:00, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Death[edit]

Nothing seems to suggest that he's died. Any sources on it? Arfn24 (talk) 06:30, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Picture[edit]

Tsk, you only get an awesome picture if you're a geek. If you're a celebrity or singer or just about anybody else you're stuck with the worst possible CC photo one can find on the net. --TheAmericanizator (talk) 10:57, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Photo and Personal info[edit]

Man that is one fly photo! PS why not put in a section in the sidebar about his ex spouses as is the case on many biographical Wikipedia pages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.44.22.61 (talk) 03:39, 8 January 2012

Net worth[edit]

Where's this 'net worth' figure coming from? I can't find it on the page which is listed as the source. And even then, socialblade.com seems to be nothing more than a (fairly basic) calculation of YouTube advertise revenue. 109.201.154.185 (talk) 18:56, 14 May 2014 (UTC)
