Untitled[edit]

I've been told by someone who would have been in a position to have heard it second or third hand that chicken à la king is named for Clarence King... can anyone confirm or dispute this? Ethan 21:40, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Apparently not: [1] -- hike395 05:06, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

Need to add information on the rest of King career especially on the number of business ventures. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wysoka60 (talkcontribs) 07:14, November 3, 2006 (UTC)

There is a great book recently written by Robert Wilson called "The Explorer King" published by Scribner. I believe it can be found on Amazon.com. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 129.33.119.12 (talkcontribs) 12:03, November 3, 2006 (UTC)

I'm holding a copy of it right now. I'll be contributing within a few weeks. --Artevelde 13:01, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Review comments[edit]

Some suggestions for improvement as the article is expanded:

  • Template:Infobox Scientist should be added
  • Lead needs expanding to cover all aspects of the subject's life and research
  • Article should be divided into appropriate subheadings
  • Information on work should be expanded
  • References should be expanded and preferably converted to inline format
  • External links present which could be used to expand article

second first name[edit]

According to the NYT book review (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/05/books/05masl.html?th&emc=th) of the recent book on King, his passing name was Clarence Todd. Is this in error, or is the Wik text in error? Or did use two "first" nmaes when he passed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.225.34.135 (talk) 02:36, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Clarence Todd was an alias: according to "Passing Strange", King assumed another identity and secretly married a black woman. hike395 (talk) 14:04, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
