As this topic is very important in the world of finance, I request this article to be expanded.

What is common stock to a corporation? An asset, liability, revenue, expense, or owner's equity.
How can common stock be made "non-voting"? It can, but how?

This is the term used under International Financial Reporting Standards and is what most people will be familiar with.
Perhaps the terminology in the article should be in line with IFRS? --Danrees 17:15, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] What is common stock on the accounting T-charts (and balance sheets)?
Is common stock a liability or "owners equity/net worth/stock holders equity" <--(all three the same thing)? The equation is (current assets + non-current assets) = (current liabilities + non-current liabilities) + OE/NW/SE. Killer Swath 18:02, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
