Outline Review[edit]

I enjoyed looking over your article outline for "Conservation and restoration of outdoor art." You have a decent number of subsection topics to cover, and I especially like how you have the "Contemporary conservation methods" section broken down. Truthfully, I don't really have any suggestions at the moment on how to improve the outline. I think you have a great starting point to build from here. In terms of resources, the first resource that came to mind was the SOS! Project from the Smithsonian American Art Museum (http://americanart.si.edu/research/programs/sos/). This entire project is dedicated to outdoor sculpture conservation, so it could prove valuable, at least as a "Further reading" item if nothing else. I would also suggest searching through Wikipedia as there are quite a few articles dedicated to public art already and it would be great if you could tie some of the more relevant ones into your article. It is difficult to gauge how closely a page adheres to Wikipedia standards at the outline stage, but so far I would say you are on the right track. Typically section headings are formatted to have the first word capitalized with the rest lowercase (unless a proper noun is used), but other than that your outline looks good. One suggestion I have is looking at the title a bit more. I don't have a good suggestion for an alternative, but I think it could be difficult to find if someone searched for it directly on Wikipedia. Other than that, I think it's just a really interesting topic to cover and I can't wait to see the finish project. I don't know if this is something you want to get into, but there are artists like Sol LeWitt that have created outdoor art specifically to see how it degrades when exposed to the natural elements. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Begirvan (talk • contribs) 23:00, 16 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
