[edit] no mention of jewish community?

constantine was one of the most important jewish communities in the middle east and its origins as a jewish settlement date back to roman times. why is there no mention of this? for basic background, see the encyclopædia judaica: http://go.galegroup.com/ps/i.do?id=GALE%7CCX2587504589&v=2.1&it=r&p=GVRL&sw=w or the forth-coming encyclopedia of jews in the islamic world. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.138.157.138 (talk) 09:57, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Constantine the city and the province

the article merges both city and province together, I suggest 2 different articles, the ar: link was changed by me to link to the province not the city. --The Brain 11:40, 6 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] History from 400 to 500 AD

The history section on this article mentions that the city fell to the Vandals in 432 AD. That sounds reasonable, but on Bruce Gordan's Regnal Chronologies' section about Constantine, he notes that Constantine never fell to the Vandals, and remained in Roman hands through the entire Vandal period. And the Euratlas map of 500 AD shows a "Kingdom of the Romans and Moors", which I've never seen mentioned anywhere else. Does anyone know which is correct? [edit] missing painting

where is the outstanding painting of the constantine rock? it would be a great addition to the article. Cliché Online (talk) 09:56, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia

This was in a section 'miscellaneous' and I moved it to talk as trivia RJFJR (talk) 18:56, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Constantine was also one of the focal points of the novel Memory in the Flesh by Ahlam Mosteghanemi.
