Coregulation is not a neologism. It is a well-respected term used in psychology since at least 1993. I am going to add more citataions from other sources as time permits but the best description of this term is found in Alan Fogel's book Developing Through Relationships. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Allanhgilbertson (talk • contribs)
- Does anyone use it besides him? Is it well-known outside of academia? Also, him coining a neologism still makes it a neologism, however enough research and it could avoid deletion - be sure to read up on Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion.
- I've also gone through the external links and hidden those that don't meet WP:EL - consider integrating them into the article as references. WLU 21:42, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
Yes, others use it. Give me a few days to try to expand this article.Allanhgilbertson 22:02, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
- The word seems to be widely used but not in psychology if this Google Book search is any guide. [1] For this reason, I will give Allanhgilbertson some further time to flesh out the article with sources. Capitalistroadster 09:27, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
How does coregulation differ from say, Daniel Stern's attunement, or any other concept of non-verbal, intersubjective communication? To be honest, I don't see how this is notable, and the article still lacks secondary sources. The pdf linked to in the autism section does not mention the term coregulation, and is in my view not a valid source. The link in the primate section is dead, the book that is linked does not return any reference to the term coregulation in google books. Kindergarten ped (talk) 22:59, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
I think the addition of Presence and quality of touch influence coregulation in mother-infant dyads was very good. My only suggestion is to maybe make the title shorter, thats alot of words for the title. Roach17 (talk) 20:27, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
