Currently Alaska boroughs are mentioned, but should not also New York boroughs be mentioned ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.100.164.90 (talk) 13:29, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

No, because in the case of New York boroughs, the counties at least nominally exist; therefore, they do not meet the definition of the term in the article. 70.39.231.20 (talk) 00:18, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

The total number of county equivalents as indicated was still 3,141, since in the same year that Clifton Forge city was disestablished (2001), Broomfield County in Colorado was founded. Since then the total should be 3,143, since the Alaska boroughs of Skagway and Wrangell have been established (2007 and 2008, respectively) Fritz Keppler, Arlington VA —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.154.237.3 (talk) 12:21, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
