sulfuric acid[edit]

Though I admit my understanding of crystal geyser is hardly thorough, I haven't come across the suggestion that sulfuric acid is dissolving calcium carbonate to create the co2 saturated waters of the geyser before. The only stuff I've been able to find in the literature about the origin of the co2 is a statement in an OSTI report that most co2 at the geyser is either stored in solution in the aquifer, or in gaseous accumulations. If you choose to put something back about sulfuric acid, please cite it -- the idea doesn't make great sense to me, for a couple reasons. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.254.19.90 (talk) 00:04, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

cold water geyser[edit]

The article doesn't make this clear: does this mean that this geyser has no geothermal activity associated with it, unlike at Yellowstone and in Iceland? Thank you. LovesMacs (talk) 03:54, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

stand pipe[edit]

I removed the sentence about the stand pipe being installed in the 1990s in reaction to the Jessica McClure incident. I visited the geyser in 1962 and camped there for a week. The stand pipe was there at that time. The story I heard was that the pipe was installed some years earlier to prevent people from setting off the geyser by dropping heavy objects (such as railroad ties) into the hole... Whoever added the sentence with the 1990's date, please feel free to add it back in again if you can find a source for that information. --Jayelston (talk) 07:47, 25 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
