Old Fashioned

"Overpopulation, immigration and imperialism (of both the cultural and old-fashioned kind) are reasons that have been suggested to explain any such decline." The term "old fashioned" is very unspecific and not very encyclopedic. I have no idea what is meant there. A more proper, decisive, less colloquial term should be used in its place. Organiz(s)ation

Both spellings are acceptable, there was just an edit changing the z's to s's in this article. One is British English, one is American. What is the policy for English dialect in Wikipedia? JoeyETS 00:05, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

It's at Wikipedia:Manual of Style#National varieties of English: "Each article should have uniform spelling and not a haphazard mix of different spellings, which can be jarring to the reader. ... If an article is predominantly written in one type of English, aim to conform to that type rather than provoke conflict by changing to another." Cultural Diversity in the Workplace

The issue of how to successfully work together with people who are culturally different is still a topic that requires training and understanding and is not something that is to be lightly thought of as common sense. In today’s modern workforce, the people that make up each workplace are as diverse as the type of work that is being performed. In the past, people who worked together were often from the same culture and the idea of having a workforce compiled of people from different cultures was not common. However, just as the work itself has evolved over time, so has the concept of having people from different backgrounds come together to get the work done. A common misconception is that culture naturally involves race and ethnicity. While it is true that people of different races might also have different cultures, it is equally true that people of the same race can have different cultures. In the past, interest in cultural diversity was mainly focused on the benefits of the business rather than the benefits of the employees. However, in today’s society, learning about cultural diversity is not just for overseas purposes. Diffrencies between european and japanese culture

The main differencies between european and japanese culture:religion,language,habits and also the character of people. In Europe we can find diffrent religions from christianity,protestantism,islam,jewish religion,.... Also the languages,there are Romance languages such as:italian,french,portugal,spanish,romanian; germanic languages-mainly german,slavic languages:slovenian,czech,croatian,slovakian,etc....,then we have celtic languages,finno-ungarian such as:finnish,hungarian,and greek language. Japanese culture is very different from european,japanese people are very traditional.Japanese religion- the most known is probably Shinto and Buddihism. Shinto or Shintoism is one of the utmost largest religions in Japan.This religion originates from prehistoric times this religion has a respect for nature. Shinto means way of the gods(kami no michi) it is a cosmic religion. The essence of Shintoism is kami,which is actually a divine spirit found in all things in heaven and earth,mountains and rivers,sun and monn,plants and animals,and also human beings. Shintoism excepts the marial world as good,while Buddhism as something evil but both religions are practised in Japan. Buddhism is a pact of practise and spiritual development which is meant to improve the changing of each individual in order to develop the qualities of wisdom,awarness and kindness. Buddhism started with their god Buddha which actually means the one who awake. Tōshōdai-ji is a buddhist temple of a Ritsu sect also in Japan. There are also some new religions in Japan such as Sōka Gakkai-the Buddhist sect. Minorities of religion in Japan are: Christianity,Hinduism,Islam,Judaism Ryukyuan and Sikhism. The language in Japan is japanese and it is spoken by over 130. million people. Japanese word order is classified as Subject-Object-Verb which is very different from Indo-european languages where the word order is subject-verb-object. Also european culture is very diverse from clothing to its people or cuisine. Europeans tend to be more lively than japanese people because of the diverse nations which were immigration from one european country to another and they brought their culture,music,habits.Japanese people were through the centuries attached to their unique and traditional culture. European culture has many symbols such as: the bull-which originates from greek mythology and it means how and where did the name Europe come. Nowadays a lot of statue in European institutions have a statue of a bull for example: the statue in from of the Strasbourg seat of the European parliment. European flag is blue with a circle of twelve golden(yellow) stars in the blue backround. European anthem is Ludwig van Beethoven"s Symphony no.9. European cuisine is also much different than japanese cuisine,with its diffrent and diverse tastes. Japanese food is for european people sometimes very strange from sushi-vinegar rice, topped with other ingredients, such as fish,sashimi or sliced raw fish,soup Miso,soups Soba and Udon,dish Tempura-deep fried seafood,vegetables or battered meat,Wagashi-typical japanese desserts served in boxes,Sake-japanece traditional alchoholic beverage from rice.Kimono is a traditional japanese clothing and it means-something one wears,it was worn by Geishas. Japanese never shake hands,but if a foreigner enetrs japanese house outdoor shoes are always replaced by slippers at the doorway. It is polite to bow instead of shaking his hand.
