Hamilton Jordan story[edit]

I recall a famous story that, during the 1976 campaign, Carter said that if he picked (quintessential Washington insider) Cyrus Vance as secretary of state, we would know he failed. Does anyone know if this is true? I want to put it in the article, but I can't really find anything on the net about the story. john k 03:16, 9 Sep 2004 (UTC)

The story is: Hamilton Jordan, once said: "If, after the inauguration, you find a Cy Vance as secretary of state and Zbigniew Brzezinski as head of national security, then I would say we failed. And I'd quit."[1]

Wonderful. john k (talk) 07:49, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

POV pushing[edit]

If you want to make unsubstantiated claims, substantiate them.--SarekOfVulcan 23:37, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

Then they wouldn't be unsubstantiated claims anymore, and so this statement is nonsensical.

Vance-Owen Peace Plan[edit]

This page needs some information about his role in the failed peace plan for the former Yugoslavia. Catchpole 07:35, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Also his involvment in Vukovar hospital massacre.

Petar Kružić

Yes, I'm sure Cyrus Vance was involved in many massacres. Serious suggestions only, please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.57.12.103 (talk) 21:55, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
