Roman numeral

[edit]

Shouldn't there be the roman numeral meaning on the article?--71.214.54.176 (talk) 02:51, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is a disambiguation page, not an article, so all there should be is an entry pointing to another article... and in fact there is such a line already.
The main article "D" doesn't mention it being a Roman numeral -- it just leaves it up to this dab page to route people to the article on Roman numerals. Cheers, NapoliRoma (talk) 04:15, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Steinway Model D

[edit]

I removed a line linking to Steinway & Sons Model D piano. My argument is that no one will ever be looking for the piano by typing the letter 'D' into Wikipedia. They will instead do things like type Steinway Model D or just Model D, both of which already link back to the manufacturer. There is no ambiguity to resolve. Binksternet (talk) 18:54, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The German Steinway factory uses the name "D-274"[1] and the Amarican Steinway factory uses the name "D".[2] Therefore "D" (linking to an article about the model "D-274"/"D") should be on this disambiguation page. (The article uses the German word "D-274" because that is the word that is mostly used about this piano). Fanoftheworld (talk) 20:35, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Prove to me that anybody outside of Steinway would ever refer to the piano as 'D'. Binksternet (talk) 21:41, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ask an American person or a Steinway fan as me. Or read the two Steinway websites mentioned above.
Furthermore your question shows that you do not know what a disambiguation page. Read below the disambiguation page: "This disambiguation page lists articles associated with the same Latin letter.". Fanoftheworld (talk) 22:18, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

D Rating

[edit]

I watch the Simpsons on Disney+ and at the beginning of each episode the rating is shown, like TV-MA, and under that is letter, like L for language or V for violence. D is also a letter that appears sometimes. After watching the episode I can’t find anything that matches D words, like drugs or something. No where on this disambiguating page does it mention that. If anyone can find out, please explain what it is and put it on the page.

@Dwightol102: You're asking on the wrong page, this is the talk page for discussing improvements to the page D (disambiguation). A better venue would be WP:RD/E; but that said, have you read TV Parental Guidelines? According to that, D stands for Dialogue. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 22:51, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
They pretty clearly suggested an addition to the page. That seems relevant. -- Fyrael (talk) 02:33, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
