As per Pedro Lopez I'll ask, are there any references for this case? Rich Farmbrough 18:19, 9 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] References needed

No references, unref tag added.--FloNight 14:40, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

Added a reference as requested. It does need a second reference though, hopefully one can be provided. Robert Mercer 21:53, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
"The Encyclopedia of Serial Killers" is quite a poor reference, unfortunately, as it is not itself well sourced. Rich Farmbrough, 15:53 31 August 2007 (GMT).
I have found a few more references, but I have noticed some pretty huge discrepancies in the information between sources. Two English language newspaper articles from the 1986 say that Barbosa escaped from a prison in Bogota, while a Spanish 1988 article says he escaped from "La Isla De La Gorgona" just as this wiki article currently states. I don't which is more credible, so I will link them here:
The Spanish article: 'El sádico del Chanquito' by Jose Comas in El País - Guayaquil - 07/02/1988
The newspaper articles in English: "Equador Killer's 48th Victim Found" in The Spokesman-Review - Mar 8, 1986 ; "Policy Say 47 Women Killed In Guayaquil in One Year" in Ocala Star-Banner - Mar 7, 1986
Also, some relevant articles in Hoy (an Equador Newspaper):
"ASESINO DE CAMARGO CORTA SEGUNDA OREJA EN EL PENAL" Published 08/March/1996
"LA INFANCIA Y LA VIRGINIDAD: DOS VERTIENTES DEL CRIMEN" Published 15/November/1994
"CRONOLOGIA DE LOS ASESINATOS DE CAMARGO BARBOSA" Published 15/November/1994
This article has a picture of Carmago, but sadly I think it is copyrighted: "Carlos Barcos V., un científico y pionero de la medicina forense" article by Joan Von Buchwald on ElUniverso.com, November 23, 2009

[edit] Differences to Spanish page

There are a couple of differences to the Spanish language page. E.g. it said he was sentenced to 25 years in Colombia. Don't feel confident enough in my Spanish to do a full translation to put here myself. 76.97.245.5 (talk) 14:29, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
