Sons' Names[edit]

I'm posting the means by which I discovered his sons' names, because they are not mentioned in any article of him, and I don't want people thinking I made them up. After reading an interview in which he said his twin sons were toddlers at the time of the 1994 Earthquake, I went to an online database of the California Birth Index. I found records for two males born on the same day in 1991 in Los Angeles County: Benjamin Bowditch Morse and Samuel Wheeler Morse-- Wheeler being the middle name of Morse's wife, and Bowditch being his own middle name. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.193.141.160 (talk) 19:42, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Boomer[edit]

I recall from the St. Elsewhere days that his character was given the nickname "Boomer" as an in-joke, since Morse had tried out for (and failed to get) the lead in Here's Boomer. Nothing found with an online search, though, connecting him to the show in any way. Maybe somebody has an old TV Guide? --Dhartung | Talk 09:55, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Type Cast?[edit]

Anyone think David Morse is type cast as a jerk or sadistic creep? Just look at his recent films or television shows. He plays the bad guy that is unyieldingly unsympathetic. Even "Dancer in the Darkness" showed him as a jerk. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.94.140.69 (talk) 18:30, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Despite his early days as the kind hearted Boomer on St. Elsewhere, he sure has had a pattern of playing creepy characters. It's not an encyclopedic fact, but maybe it has a place in this article. Has he made some sort of public statement about the type of character he prefers? --98.209.0.57 (talk) 14:57, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GA Review[edit]

Talk:David Morse (actor)/GA1

Note: Just because IMDb is not a reliable source doesn't mean you have to remove all references to it, but you should seek better sources to augment it and confirm what it says. IMDB is better than nothing--WP:RS/N has discussed just how far to trust it many times. Jclemens (talk) 15:00, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, most of the IMDb references were unnecessary, but then again, most of them are replaced with better sources if available. Music2611 (talk) 16:31, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What does "transclude / trancluded" mean? It does not appear in the Merriam-Webster website. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/transclude .
It is entered thus in Wiktionary:
Verb - transclude (third-person singular simple present transcludes, present participle transcluding, simple past and past participle transcluded)
(pro:gramming) To substitute a template or other input for its rendered text, such as when parsing wikitext. To include by transclusion. To process fetched data in-line.
Synonyms: interpolate, mirror. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/transclude
How does that apply here in English?

Fact I Did Not Insert[edit]

In July 2014 I spotted David Morse's handprint and autograph imprinted into the concrete plaza beside the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès (uncharitably known locally as "le bunker") in Cannes, the primary venue of Le Festival International du Film de Cannes, the Cannes Film Festival. I realize that this is considered "original research" and I can't imagine finding a published reference to it (maybe in the local Nice Matin newspaper if I could recover the date). It was particularly memorable to me because I was a member of the Boston Repertory Theater (a volunteer, actually) along with Dave in the 1970's.
Dick Kimball (talk) 19:49, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dick Kimball (talk) - If you are certain that the imprints refer to this David Morse, you could add a photograph of them to the "Commons" site with your caption and data until such time as somebody finds a reference for it. Perhaps the building itself has documentation of its prints or the local tourist information site has a list? Thank you and good luck, Wordreader (talk) 17:57, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

– It seems hard to argue that this page needs a disambiguate. The daily average is 1,220. No other David Morse has an average higher than single digits. Clearly primary. --Quiz shows 20:47, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. Pageview stats indicate that the actor is the clear primary topic in terms of usage with around 98% of all views, while the dab page gets more views than the other topics combined. PC78 (talk) 17:39, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support I support due to as stated above that the actor is clearly the primary topic. Josalm64rc (talk) 04:48, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
