History of the deafness article[edit]

There have been a lot of page moves through this title, and having spent the time to investigate I want to record it here.

The first article was created in November 2002 at Deaf, then in January 2005 was briefly moved to Deafness before becoming the current Models of deafness article.

A month later a new Deaf article was created, which was moved to Deafness in June 2006. Some of its content was merged into the existing Deaf culture article in January 2008, and Deafness became a redirect. This iteration's history is now at Talk:Deafness/Old history.

A Hearing impairment article was created in April 2002, and was moved to Deafness in December 2012, displacing the 2006–2008 Deafness article's old history. It was moved to its current title, Hearing loss, in February 2014.

This article was created in July 2020. It is intended to be a broad-concept article that briefly gives an overview of all aspects and viewpoints on deafness. It should not grow too long, as greater detail should be added to the child articles instead of here. John P. Sadowski (NIOSH) (talk) 20:39, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@John P. Sadowski (NIOSH): I'm deorphaning long lost archives, and standardising the remainders. And this brief summary saved me so much time and effort and made my day. Thank you! CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 17:08, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

verywellhealth.com is blocked[edit]

I have tried to fix an URL error in a reference and saw I had to add the domain name. It was verywellhealth.com. However, it is blocklisted and I cannot fix the URL error. That means we need a different reliable source.

The reference's number is 5 and the title is "Ways to Help Deaf People in Developing Countries". WPEditor42 (talkcontribsCentralAuth) 15:18, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Alternatively, we can request whitelisting. WPEditor42 (talkcontribsCentralAuth) 15:32, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
