Should this article be merged with polyoxymethylene? Delrin is just the trade name. Or perhaps this page should be for content related strictly to Delrin (e.g. which company makes it, history, etc.). Chemical & physical properties which apply not just to Delrin, but all the equivalent products (Celcon, Ultraform) could go on the main page. Nathaniel 16:38, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I'll put a merger tag--Avé 20:36, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

If the article is merged with POM, then make sure that Delrin is a redirect. I just happened to look up Delrin because I was curious as to what it is; nobody is going to come and search for polyoxymethylene.

From Lebkuchenteile[edit]

I disagree. Delrin is polyoxymethylene (POM) just the same as Nylon is polyamide. The point is, the trade name Delrin is in common usage but it's chemical constituency is not. Few people, aside from a chemist perhaps, would go to an engineering suppliers and ask for some 'polyoxymethylene sheet' (or, for that matter, Marks & Spencer's for 'polyamide tights'). As it stands, if you just want to clarify what Delrin is and what it is for, it is there for you. Once you are there, scientific detail about POM is one mouse click away. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lebkuchenteile (talkcontribs) 14:13, 5 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]
