"Dept."?[edit]

What does "Dept." stand for? It looks like an abbrevation. Is it "Departure from Heaven"? Or what? 203.214.106.143 (talk) 13:06, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In English, "Dept." is usually an abbreviation for "department", so it's probably supposed to be Department Heaven. I've never seen it written any other way, but unless Sting is going for an unorthodox abbreviation I'd say that's the best bet. Nall (talk) 21:17, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sting's bad with English so it's not a good idea to assume anything. It could, very likely, be "dept", especially seeing as that's how they write it in Katakana. DrSturm (talk) 13:56, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Shinichi Itou[edit]

This is the correct transliteration of his name. Shinichi Ito is how somebody decided to transliterate his name, but it's incorrect. The exact Kanji for it is so you can see for yourself that it is Itou. DrSturm (talk) 03:49, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with your translation, but... Across 5 releases of the games in this series (I am not sure about the Wonderswan version of Riviera.), in both America and Japan, he has been credited in English as "Shinichi Ito". Since these pages are about this series of games, shouldn't we respect that? 12.144.74.171 (talk) 13:59, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In other words: The official, instead of the fan, translation? 12.144.74.171 (talk) 14:18, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can you give me some proof that it's official? Or even that it's INTENTIONAL? Because I don't know if you've played the Japanese versions of the games, but Sting clearly doesn't understand transliteration if, for example, they think ルゥリ = Lyuri.
Also, way to be an adult and, instead of coming to discuss it, reverting all the articles first. That's the collaborative spirit Wikipedia wants! DrSturm (talk) 17:39, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a brand new user, no need to get snarky. "Ito" is how it's spelled in the credits for Knights in the Nightmare for the Nintendo DS, Both American and Japanese. I own them both, that's what they say. Seems official. Maybe you could check your facts? 12.144.74.171 (talk) 22:21, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I own both versions too. I also own various versions of the previous games, and what the credits say DON'T change my point; try reading again. DrSturm (talk) 02:52, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
