Section 4 entitled "Desks groaning under piles of paper" - Is that in an encyclopedic tone, and does it apply to the paragraph following it? xander 02:13, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

merger: School desk[edit]

The notabilty of the School desk article has been questioned. In fact, it seems to me that the topic might better be covered in this article, along with "Student desk".

Proposed as part of the Notability Wikiproject --B. Wolterding 08:33, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And yet, there is not a single mention of the word "school" in the merged article! I wonder what has been lost from the original School desk article. The item of furniture pictured under the heading "student desk" is certainly not a school desk. -- Picapica (talk) 16:15, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Improvements suggested[edit]

I have done a copyedit cleanup sweep of the entire article.

Notable designs and users: Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin,

Types: standing desk, campaign desk, portable desk,

Adding 2 other notable desks to the Notable examples section[edit]

I was thinking of adding the Bureau du Roi and Henry VIII's writing desk in this section, adding bullet points. As far as I know these three unique desks are the only notable ones in Wikipedia. Does anyone know of others?--AlainV (talk) 23:48, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
