Relation to Littré[edit]

What relation does this dictionary have to the Dictionnaire de la langue française, better known as Littré? Colin McLarty (talk) 11:51, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Obviously, this is a very old question, but if anyone is still wondering, the Dictionnaire de la langue française is a publication by Hachette, originally compiled by Émile Littré back in the mid-19th century. While he did use the Academy's dictionary as one of his sources, he was not limited to it, including many new words (technical terms, colloquialisms, etc.) not found in it. The [French Wikipedia article] has more information on it. Mahousu (talk) 01:41, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
