Big passive mouthful[edit]

As digital platforms became increasingly incorporated into marketing plans and everyday life, and as people increasingly use digital devices instead of visiting physical shops, digital marketing campaigns have become prevalent, employing combinations of search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), content marketing, influencer marketing, content automation, campaign marketing, data-driven marketing, e-commerce marketing, social media marketing, social media optimization, e-mail direct marketing, display advertising, e–books, and optical disks and games have become commonplace.

Perhaps that could be refactored. — MaxEnt 01:47, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Passive" in which sense? It is a long, clumsy sentence which looks like it was written by some marketing professional, but the verb phrases are all in the active voice. --bonadea contributions talk 21:41, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Replacing Wrong One With The Right Fact Based On Research of Global Web Index[edit]

Wrong: The Global Web Index estimated that in 2018, a little more than 50% of consumers researched products on social media. Right: 42% say they use social media to research new brands or products, making this the second-most important channel of all. Content Marketing is too less and not up to date[edit]

Please add this
56% of marketers believe personalized content – brand-centered blogs, articles, social updates, videos, landing pages – improves brand recall and engagement.

Please change “Online methods used to build brand awareness” to “Online methods used to push a target audience through the marketing funnel”.

Right below that headline, add “Digital marketers reference the marketing funnel[1] when they create digital marketing campaigns because target audiences will have different needs at each stage of the marketing funnel. The marketing funnel stages are awareness, consideration, conversion, loyalty, and advocacy.

Enhancing brand awareness is important in digital marketing, and marketing in general, because of its impact on brand perception and consumer decision-making. According to the 2015 essay, "Impact of Brand on Consumer Behavior". Recent trends show that businesses and digital marketers are prioritizing brand awareness, focusing more on their digital marketing efforts on cultivating brand recognition and recall than in previous years. This is evidenced by a 2019 Content Marketing Institute study, which found that 81% of digital marketers have worked on enhancing brand recognition over the past year. How to create content for every stage of the buyer's journey. HubSpot Blog. Retrieved November 29, 2022, from https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/content-for-every-funnel-stage </ref>”

Brand awareness is one of many stages in the marketing funnel. The methods listed apply in different ways to different stages of the funnel. For example, blog posts (content marketing) are a huge part of the consideration stage, not just the brand awareness stage. SEM plays an important role in brand awareness, but it also plays an essential role in the conversion stage when users have the search intent to make a purchase. Lack of definition and very partial description of affiliate marketing[edit]

The definition of affiliate marketing is not even such a thing as a definition. Unlike the definition that appears in all other channels, the definition of affiliate marketing doesn't even exist. The first thing we read about affiliate marketing is that it's not worth it because there are huge risks involved.

The article should at least start by explaining what affiliate marketing is. Perhaps the specific article you link to can go into more detail about its benefits and risks, but as it is written right now it's only part information. Affiliate marketing can have risks like any other channel, but it is also a useful tool for thousands of companies around the world.

It would be logical to remove this reference and use an aseptic definition of affiliate marketing in the paragraph Barrosoypalacios (talk) 14:49, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The words 'Affiliate marketing' in the article are a link. Click on them and you'll be taken to the specific article, which contains the definition of the term. We should not duplicate that content on this article. MrOllie (talk) 14:51, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I know there is a link and a specific article. What I am referring to is the paragraph in this article about affiliate marketing. The article devotes a paragraph to give a brief description of what 15 different marketing channels consist of. In 14 of them we find brief descriptions about how each channel works, but the one dedicated to affiliate marketing does not explain anything, only warns of its risks, implying that it is little less than a scam every time. Please review the definitions and you will see that it is not consistent.
