Let's all just take a few seconds to admire the existence of this page[edit]

This is one of the best pages on Wikipedia. Let's take a moment to admire its existence. Keavon (talk) 03:54, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yep. My favorite Wikipedia article. We should nominate it to be featured --TangoFett (talk) 23:21, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Here is another way disambiguation can require disambiguation: Bright (Bright (American band) album) versus Bright (Bright (Japanese band) album). PrimeHunter (talk) 00:55, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Mine too! I love the disambiguation of disambiguation! MKsLifeInANutshell (talk) 16:49, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. This page is the essence of Wikipedia. Disambiguation pages are as well known and frequently encountered as Citation needed but only this page can be applied to itself.
I'm glad I found this page. I'll come back to it from time to time and marvel at the beauty of it's existence.Wantnot (talk) 16:58, 5 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Although I agree with the sentiment of what you say in essence, I'm wondering whether this whole page should be renamed "Disambiguization" just to disambiguate? 88.108.199.27 (talk) 01:30, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Search throws up a few uses of "disambiguization", but it seems to be a typo and is certainly not a common name for the topic. Certes (talk) 12:20, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The angler fish[edit]

When the male angler fish merges its body into the female angler fish, this process is known as disambiguation.

Consequently disambiguation means the opposite of what it usually means here, it's two things becoming one, instead of two things being distinguished from one another. 108.20.1.45 (talk) 16:40, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Does a reliable source document the word being used in this sense? If so then it could be added to Anglerfish#Reproduction, giving it a WP:DABMENTION which would make it eligible for inclusion on this page. Certes (talk) 19:18, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I can tell, no reliable source has said anything about "disambiguation" in anglerfish, besides encyclopedic sites in the general sense of disambiguation in Wikipedia. Frostcrush Valari (talk) 19:46, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
