I could go either way. It is a type of track event, and it is not a proper noun in part because it could refer to a number of different events held at different distances. Racepacket (talk) 22:59, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

The event is called the "Distance Medley" not "The Distance Medley Relay." Because there NOT different running strides for each of the different legs/distances in the medley the "relay" because redundant.
