Song In Previews[edit]

the song is Lonely Day by System of A Down

The trailer I saw in a german cinema used the song "You can't go home again" by DJ Shadow.

Hitchcock[edit]

Though I 100% agree it looks like a rip-off of Rear Window, without a reference the statement that it's similar is WP:OR. WLU 21:52, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A month or so back this wikipedia article on did mention that it was a remake of Hitchcock's movie. UnknownParadox 05:04, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, but WP, sadly, doesn't count as a WP:RS. I put a cheap reference on the page (this one) that points out it is similar, possibly a re-make, but a real reference that doesn't suck would be better (and hopefully more explicit). WLU 19:36, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I cited a bunch more sources. Probably too many; feel free to pick a couple of the best and delete the rest. --66.18.213.58 02:05, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

For God's sake, every review mentions Rear Window. It's not OR. john k (talk) 20:24, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A court just held that it's not a copy of Rear Window. See SHELDON v. SPIELBERG No. 08 Civ. 7810 US Dist Ct SD NY Dom316 (talk) 23:04, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

full plot synopsis[edit]

Someone who's seen the movie should put up a full synopsis. I had a quick look at some reviewn and decicded not to waste my money. But someone who has, if you would, thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 58.165.92.225 (talk) 16:05, 13 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Yeah, I had to edit it, for grammar, spelling and punctuation, and now I know the whole movie. I tried not to read it, and just gloss over words for obvious mistakes, but dang-gone-it I couldn't help read most of it, therefore understanding the plot for there were so many typos, mis-spellings and grammar mistakes I couldn't help it! Why did I even care about the stupid typos? lol :/ Jeeny 00:36, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
This plot summary is 1,249 words when I paste it into Word and hit Word Count ... well over the 1,000-word maximum, to say nothing of the suggested 800-word size. Would someone who's actually seen the film shorten it up? Daniel Case 02:55, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In then end, Kale refuses to heed the man's warnings, and continues to dig deeper. He finally finds a woman's body on tape hidden in a vent, and the man kidnaps Kale's mother, and breaks into his house. After knocking out both him and Ronnie, the man binds Kale with duct tape, and tells Kale how he is going to kill everyone involved and make it look like Kale did it in a jealous frenzy over Ashley. However, as the killer is forcing Kale to write a note, Ashley enters the house. After a brief struggle, Kale and Ashley manage to escape, and Kale sends Ashley to wait for the police to arrive. Kale breaks into the killer's house in search of his mother, and finally finds her along with several other bodies. Meanwhile, the killer lies in wait as a lone cop enters the house, searching for Kale. The police officer becomes suspicious and draws his gun. However, the killer manages to sneak behind the officer and snap his neck. As Kale cuts hey mother free, the killer manages to grab her, wielding a kitchen knife. Kale is stabbed, but manages to kill him by driving a pair of garden shears into his chest, ending the story. -will someone please edit that and fit it in :)? 24.6.215.4 02:50, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

factual error[edit]

"A year later Kale is in Spanish class at school and his teacher Mr. Gutierrez (Tom Cruise) is harassing him in front of the entire class for sleeping and not studying. " -> Tom Cruise is not in this movie, and it seems Mr. Gutierrez is the police officer, not the teacheer. FireWire 22:33, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some idiot obviously added that Mr. Guiterrez was played by Tom Cruise. However, the police officer and the teacher are cousins so they have the same lat name as showed by the police officer when Kale meets him. Because Kale punched his cousin, that's why Officer Guiterrez wants to be the guy who goes after him whenever he goes over the line. Zaque 24 03:11, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

when shia is playing xbox , he is playing ghost recon advanced warfighter on single player, not xbox live , because the map he is on is not a multiplayer map. evben though he is talking with headset like he is online.

Trivia Sections[edit]

An effort is being made to remove trivia sections from articles. Do not remove the trivia tags. - Kevin23 05:49, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The trivia section contains a spoiler, and there is no spoilers end here divider in this article. I am disappointed, because I haven't seen the movie yet,but it looked as horifying as the real thing on the comercals. - nalin35 20:36, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia are unimportant items, and according to Wikipedia policy using trivia sections in articles should be avoided. - Kevin23 00:15, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree there we alot of references to other movies such as the saw reference - Link287 00:20, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Any showing of operation tools and equipment in a movie from now on is a reference to Saw? ChesterG 13:40, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thats not what I mean't what I meant was the look and feel of the room with the giant coolers in it Link287 22:24, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Saw was not the first movie to have such an atmosphere and setting and certaintly won't be the last.

Plot Synopsis??[edit]

"Basically, he and his friends spy on this guy thinking he's a serial killer."

Thats it so far - someone really needs to put in a better synopsis. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mortel3 (talkcontribs) 13:33, 22 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I have greatly shortened the plot synopsis in response to the Wiki comment that it was too long and a potential copywright violation.Prudentius 20:48, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Plot[edit]

The Plot seems to be more like an advertisment than anything else. It does not wrap the film up like it should it more ends on a 'cliffhanger' type ending that is saying "Go see it if you want to know the ending". Although the plot should be shortened it should include the entire plot. I have not seen this movie yet otherwise I would do it myself. Is there anyone who has seen this that could shorten the plot and include all of it. Thanks. --205.145.18.20 16:22, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Under normal circumstances, striking a teacher would warrant a year in juvenile detention? Sounds too much like a generalized statement and is surely not the same in all states. If it is, where is the reference?71.75.24.92 (talk) 19:14, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If anything, can we at least admit that the plot synopsis is way longer than it should be. Huh? Quixoto (talk) 03:18, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In great need of error/typo correction.[edit]

This article has an awful orthography, could someone think about correcting it?

Example: "As the police arrive they search the garage to find that it is the remains of a deer which Turner had hit on the interstate. Kale fears Ronnie is dead, but later discovers he escaped unharmed.after his monther his kidnapped by turner he rescues her and he gets of house arrest early for good behaver and he kisss ashley and then finds revenge on those kids so he calls there mon and act like hes the cable guy and says that she access porn at that very cable box and she runs up stairs and thay get caught.then thay end up kissing and ronnie comes in and says "this will be #1 on youtube"

There is also the fact that it is useless to mention the ending in the first paragraph as there is a section on it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lordmick (talkcontribs) 17:46, August 23, 2007 (UTC).

Disturbia Filmposter[edit]

Compare Disturbia's filmposter with PC game Command and Conquer (1) picture.

May sound silly but it looks awefully familiar.

Grammar/logic in opening paragraph[edit]

"Disturbia was originally rated R, but the violence level had to be cut down in order to receive the PG-13 rating."

Wouldn't "and" make a lot more sense than "but"?

Suggested new paragraphs for plot[edit]

An IP user 99.95.168.126 (talk) asked for help 20:38, 16 April 2011 [1] with adding to this plot. The help was not answered, and the user added a couple of paragraphs, at 22:38, 16 April 2011 [2]. The edit was reverted [3].

The edit was not formatted correctly - it included literal text, The 2 paragraphs are: (presumably a copy-paste error), and did not wikilink Shia LaBeouf.

I fully accept that it was reverted as that did make it appear an 'odd plot edit'; however - despite that, it may be a constructive edit; I do not know.

In accordance with the Wikipedia principle of WP:BRD - whereby, we encourage users to boldy make changes, but if they are reverted by others, to then discuss them... I am copying the IP users original help request here, so that others can work out if the edit is helpful - and, if appropriate, add it to the article (but with better formatting).

Is it okay for me to put these 2 paragraphs in the plot summary for Disturbia (2007 film)? If I put these 2 paragraphs in the plot summary, then are these 2 paragraphs unconstructive? If I put these 2 paragraphs in the plot summary, then is someone going to delete these 2 paragraphs?

The 2 paragraphs are: Kale (Shia LaBeouf) and his father are on a fishing trip. When their fishing trip's over, they decide to go back to their house. Kale and his father get into a car accident, which leads to the death of Kale’s father.

One year later, Kale and his classmates are inside Mr. Gutierrez’s classroom. Mr. Gutierrez’s a Spanish Teacher. Kale attacks Mr. Gutierrez because the Spanish Teacher asked, “What would your father think?” Mr. Gutierrez is mad at Kale because Kale attacked him. The sympathetic judge sentences Kale to three months of house arrest. Kale’s secured with an ankle monitor and a proximity sensor which prohibits him from leaving a 100 foot radius of his house. One of Mr. Gutierrez’s cousins is Officer Gutierrez. Officer Gutierrez is also mad at Kale because Kale assaulted Mr. Gutierrez. (99.95.168.126 (talk) 20:38, 16 April 2011 (UTC)).[reply]
Nope, that IP was User:Timmy Polo, who was banned from Wikipedia for incompetence, adding superfluous plot details to articles, and causing disruption with unblock requests, sockpuppetry, lying, and overall stupidity. Eagles 24/7 (C) 23:50, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely Timmy. The content has shrunk considerably from TImmy's original edits on this plot, but I feel it still amounts to unneeded detail. How his dad died is really not all that relevant to understanding the overall plot. Millahnna (talk) 23:54, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
