Untitled[edit]

The Journey is NOT anywhere near the same size as the PT Cruiser and I am going to remove that statement from the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.114.124.87 (talk) 15:27, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think Nitro and Durango are relevant here; those are both truck-based SUVs and this is a crossover, more a minivan or station wagon than anything else. Other than that, a terrific start. Thanks, Bull-Doser.

Name has been used before[edit]

Jeep used the name Journey on a concept years ago. 192.235.1.34 22:28, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Press release note[edit]

Compared with articles on other automobiles, I don't see why this one has been tagged as sounding like a press release. Compare to Corolla, Camry, Celica, etc and see if it sounds more press-releasy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davert (talkcontribs) 18:12, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Release Date[edit]

I wrote this on 03/10/08. I visited Dodge's homepage that day and the Journey was still listed as a future vehicle. Even if it had come out as of 03/10/08, the article said that it, "will come out in February 2008." I think there's a date issue.JIMfoamy1 (talk) 01:32, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note on the above post: I did post it on 3/10/08, I just forgot add my name until the above date.JIMfoamy1 (talk) 01:34, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

First CUV?[edit]

Wasn't the Dodge Caliber a crossover? They don't call it a station wagon or hatchback, and it's not an SUV. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davert (talkcontribs) 17:13, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note:On a talk page, new items go at the bottom. Also, don't forget to sign your posts -- to avoid the embarrassment of the robot signing for you!
Added three references citing the Journey as the "first CUV" from Dodge. 842U (talk) 18:56, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that (seriously / not sarcasm). Will obey protocol in future. (And you are right, it IS embarassing.) However, to go back to the original issue, I could bring up a bunch of articles calling the Caliber, which predates the Journey, a crossover too: http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/jedlicka.aspx?year=2007&make=Dodge&model=Caliber http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/04/12/earlyshow/main1491553.shtml http://www.boston.com/cars/car_reviews/articles/2006/07/23/dodge_takes_its_best_shot/ http://viewnewspapers.net/moxie/Scene/functional-caliber-crosso.shtml http://reviews.carreview.com/blog/2007-dodge-caliber-review/ http://www.worldcarfans.com/2060202.003/2007-dodge-caliber-production-start http://www.cars.com/go/crp/research.jsp?revid=50195&indcriteria=ASSET_TYPE-Affiliate+Review%2CBuying+Guide%2CVehicle+Profile%7CM-_23_%7CD-_8236_%7CY-_2007_%7CresultStructure-combined&makeid=23&modelid=8236&year=2007&myid=&revlogtype=19&section=reviews&mode=&aff=national http://www.calibersrt4.net/dodge-caliber-srt-4-news-announcements/860-dodge-caliber-tuned-koenigseder.html http://www.worldcarfans.com/2061020.001/dodge-caliber-rt-arrives-in-australia http://www.indiacar.net/news/n24549.htm http://www.epinions.com/content_400643886724 Later on, I'd have no objections to having some of these cut - the point is, though, that several people saying the wrong thing doesn't make it right. I believe the issue is that DODGE claimed this was their first crossover - and their writers do tend to make the odd mistake. (At one point they were claiming the Hemi had the highest horsepower per liter of any Dodge engine - which quickly became any V8 engine - which quickly became...) Davert (talk) 23:55, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You make a very fair, well-supported argument. The point is that you supported the argument well enough that perhaps we should amend the article to simply call the Journey a CUV and leave off the "first" part. The notion that the Journey is Dodge's "first" CUV is probably -- now that you've pointed it out and backed up your point -- good old-fashioned salesmanship.
Would you like to edit the article accordingly? Thanks for taking the energy to cite your sources. 842U (talk) 02:08, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I very much appreciate your courtesy and your attitude! Quite a pleasant surprise.Davert (talk) 13:17, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2009 end of production?[edit]

The page lists the Journey of ending production in 2009. Got a source for this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.118.250.122 (talk) 01:59, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dodge JC / Dodge JCUV[edit]

The text about the JCUV in this article is bullshit. The information is wrong. Heres the German article about this car: Dodge JC. I think its time that anybody translate it soon. --91.89.158.145 (talk) 10:48, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tires and brakes[edit]

I think it has to be noted that the Journey has a history of trouble with brakes and tires. The tires on this vehicle are only offered in one make and only fit this vehicle so there are No options, also the tires need to be replaced about every 15,000 to 25,000 miles. I have 35,000 miles on mine and need to buy another set. I ordered mine online for a cheaper price and had the dealer put them on at a cost of $700.00, rather than paying $1,000 for all 4 as the dealer had wanted. Also, I need brakes Again. I never thought I would be glad to see the warranty expire, but at least now I can go buy lifetime brakes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.242.207.200 (talk) 23:23, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Contest/Hunt?[edit]

Why has no one mentioned that Dodge put 3 2011 Journeys in the wilderness of America and if you find one, you can keep it?

Source: TV Commercials. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.87.148.187 (talk) 20:14, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tow Capacity[edit]

The article totally glosses over the fact that these vehicles can be used for towing. If anyone would see reason to buy this gas guzzler it would be because of its towing capability. The smaller engine can pull 1000lbs the larger engine is capable of pulling 3000lbs, according to some sites. That said I would never tow anything with a vehicle that is based on a unibody design. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.192.197.248 (talk) 14:35, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove the Fiat Freemont page protection[edit]

Please remove the Fiat Freemont page protection as we want to create a separate page from Dodge Journey and to have some different information, even those vehicles have similarities. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rejs12345 (talkcontribs) 21:49, 7 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Image & Successor Details[edit]

The new image, I think, is a vast improvement. And as we all know, the Durango is a full-size SUV, not a mid-size SUV. The Grand Cherokee L is arguably a better candidate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2604:2D80:D70C:D300:1BE:9E65:8133:791E (talk) 22:31, 31 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

One, the picture is in no way better, and has cars in the background distracting from the topic of the image; not an improvement. As for the textual changes, that sounds like WP:OR. We don't "all know" anything, we have to go by what reliable sources show, and if you have to argue that something is a better candidate, it sounds like opinion, not fact. Do you have a source supporting this change that the Cherokee is its successor, or did you just make that change because it is "arguably" better in your opinion? - Aoidh (talk) 23:16, 31 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
