Untitled[edit]

I spent five days with Don Wayne and Dale Reno at the Reno Revival just outside Nashville TN in October 1999. As musicians they are awesome; with a father like theirs, you expect them to be world class on their own instruments - Don Wayne on banjo and and Dale on Mandolin. They are indeed that good but I wasn't prepared for their consummate facility on guitar. I have only that five days to go on, but Don Wayne can certainly stand with Doc Watson on Country lead guitar. (Let's not forget that it was Don Reno, not Doc Watson who invented the form). Dale Reno's mandolin borrows heavily from his father's lead guitar style and his Country rhythm guitar is faultless; drive, rhythm and creativity. One thing I have from a mutual friend - they weren't men of the cloth then, and they aren't now. It's a Dixie Hayseed PR thing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.210.45.100 (talkcontribs)
