Ireland = colony argument (again)[edit]

"The Irish Office in London[citation needed] was the part of the British civil service which liaised with Dublin Castle, just as the Colonial Office liaised with colonial governments."

Actually, to the extent this office even existed, one thing that's certain is that it was nothing like the Colonial Office. The view that Ireland was a "colony" of Britain (particularly in the 19th and early 20th Century) is extremely controversial and disputed by the majority of mainstream historians[1].

This line should be removed. It isn't sourced and even if it were, it's too controversial to stand by itself.Jonathan f1 (talk) 10:48, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
