There are considerable errors omissions in this article. First the name of the waterway that serves as East Meadow's Western Border is Officially the "EAST MEADOW BROOK" not the Meadow Brook. Second, the EAST MEADOW BROOK still exists today. Third , the Meadowbrook State Parkway derives its name from the Meadowbrook Club, a Golf and Polo Club that served as the northern terminus of the parkway until it was condemned by the New York State DOT for parkway expansion in 1965. Fourth, It should also be noted that actor Robert Neary, actor Peter Marino, Professional Football Player Rick Mauti, and author Michael Crighton grew up in East Meadow. Fifth, it should be noted that the Red Course in Eisenhower Park is at the north end of the Great Meadow and is part of the Hempstead Plains Prairie Preservation Project that has been ongoing for over the past 25 years. The Red Course was once the Salisbury Golf and Country Club. Its Clubhouse building still stands across from Eisenhower Park on Merrick (Post) Avenue. Eisenhower Park, originally Salisbury Park, is essentially the northern half of the Great Meadow that stretched from the East Meadow Brook to Island Trees ( Wantagh Avenue in today's Levittown). Most of the Southern Portion of today's East Meadow was a wooded area 100 years ago, serving as the southern boundary of the Great Meadow. I can say this rather definitively as I am the fourth generation of my family to have lived in East Meadow. This information has been handed down from each generation in my family. I am concerned that more than a half year has gone by and PFLANNERYP's corrections have not been addressed. I confirm that the Meadowbrook State Parkway has not replaced the East Meadow Brook but rather, runs parallel and west of the brook. In fact, on Google Earth you can see the brook and trace it as it runs to the southern shore of Long Island, expanding into ponds along the way. The top section of the East Meadow, New York page, where Wikipedia's mistake is located, is not editable. When will Wikipedia correct the wrong information?
