Discovery of Bailey?[edit]

I don't get it. What was the interviewer expected to know that he or she didn't know? In other words, what was Collins annoyed at? This is not clear IMO. --Nidorino (talk) 18:13, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What's probably being insinuated is that Collins was annoyed that the radio interviewer didn't know that Bailey was a vocalist in the band Earth, Wind & Fire, which I could understand, since Bailey's voice is easily recognizable in any of their truly big songs. However, it is still unsourced, so it may be bunk anyway. CarpetCrawler (talk) 06:11, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Very fishy. A nameless interviewer of an unknown radio station who is so stooopid. And the media in general being so stooopid. Thats the typical pattern of urban legends. I only found exact copies of this text in the internet and nothing else to confirm it. That is where the story started. I think I better remove it. -- Harro (talk) 11:26, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Double Dragon II[edit]

I'm just a guest, but I want to suggest a change. The song from Double Dragon II is clearly inspired by Easy Lover, but it is wrong to call it an "instrumental rendition." They have similar backbeats and bass lines, but the main tune is different. They are different songs. 98.197.198.167 (talk) 04:56, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Used for Danish television intro[edit]

Hey, I'm just a guest and I don't know if this is worth adding to the article, but the instrumental was used in a Danish TV comedy series about a biker gang. Here is a youtube clip of the intro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMZYk0PNn4Q Name of the series was "Svinene" (The Pigs). 87.50.94.173 (talk) 15:59, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you can find a reliable source documenting that fact, then please feel free to add it! David1217 What I've done 16:03, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Got some facts wrong, the series was called Rockerne and aired for the first time in march 2002, here is the Danish Wikipage: http://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockerne 87.50.94.173 (talk) 16:04, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Other Wikipedias aren't reliable sources, though. David1217 What I've done 16:27, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Different Author?[edit]

Hello All! Is my memory playing games or the first performance was not by Bailey & Collins? I remember vividly that the song was FIRST released by a guy performing solo BEFORE the well known Bailey & Collins version. Can anyone corroborate on this? If someone knows for sure that I am talking nonsense please feel free to erase the entire section.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.138.192.51 (talk) 19:16, 18 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 8 September 2023[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: moved. The opposing arguments were all countered by the supportive policy arguments. Additionally, the dab page is not needed. UtherSRG (talk) 15:52, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

– The song by Phil Collins is likely much more notable than that of Ellie Goulding. -- Jax 0677 (talk) 18:21, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Note: pages with content, such as Easy Lover, are ineligible to be proposed titles in move requests unless they, too, are formally dispositioned. "Easy LoverEasy Lover (disambiguation)" has been added to this request to meet that requirement. If this proposal is successful, then template {{One other}} can be installed on the dab page. Oppose - No evidence of primary topic, especially as the Ellie Goulding song dominated pageviews every month except last.[1] estar8806 (talk) 20:50, 8 September 2023 (UTC) Edit: Oppose as I feel it's too soon to determine a primary topic based on how recent the newer song is.--estar8806 (talk) 21:11, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Estar8806 The Phil Collins song was moved from Easy Lover to Easy Lover (Philip Bailey and Phil Collins song) on 12 August 2023 [2], so you need to, as far as I know, include the previous name as well and just mentally join the two lines: [3]. It appears that the Baily/Collins song has been averaging ~8,000 views/month while the Goulding song is settling down to about 1,000 views/month (after starting higher when it was released). Riight. Duh. Silly me. I'll strike the rationale, but my !vote. Is still the same. estar8806 (talk) 21:10, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Reply - Ellie Goulding's song has been out for more than one year, therefore, recentism is a moot point. --Jax 0677 (talk) 13:08, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nom and 162 etc. It appears that the dab page can simply be deleted. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:11, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
