Linda Ndumiso[edit]
An anonymous editor added this to top of the "Aims" section:
According to Linda Ndumiso aims are things that guide you to complete a particular thing. A positive aim will surely lead to a positive result. Education has no aim as it is something that is not seen nor alive - only people have aims.
In October 2014 someone added a "clarify" request. I've been unable to find any text by Linda Ndumiso relating to the topic. If someone can find a reference to some text by Linda Ndumiso and it is useful perhaps it will help the article - otherwise this seems to be an unhelpful addition. Summary[edit]
The body of the article makes it very clear that in the field of education an aim is qualitatively different to an objective. However the current version of the summary muddies the waters a lot by talking about time frames. While it is true that in a given 'chunk' of education individual objectives are achieved before the aims finally 'pan out' these are relative differences in time scale and it is wrong to arbitrarily assign specific time durations as the current intro does.
For this reason I intend to split that part of the intro into two parts - a sentence which summarises the qualitative difference between an aim and an objective and then a sentence that says something about time scales in a way that is consistent with what is said in the body of the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bmb6jrm (talk • contribs) 14:44, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
