expanded sections on career and contributions[edit]

Semple was a pioneer of American geography, and I have added more sections on her career as a teacher and on her theoretical contributions to reflect that, but more is probably needed. I could not find much biographical information about her childhood and family. More could also be added about students she influenced in geography: Preston E. James, Edwin J. Foscue, William Van Royen, Millicent Todd Bingham, Zonia Baber, and Mabel Crompton.
