A deal you don't want to refuse[edit]

This and similar articles have been speedy-deleted a few times as promotional, but the article creator seems to be improving the articles, and the science is important ... we should have an article like this on Wikipedia. Grasses in general and bamboo in particular are an important sustainable resource. I offered the article creator a deal in my edit summary: I'm declining the speedy deletion on the condition that they help us create a non-promotional, well-sourced article out of this. I'll keep an eye on this article and see how it develops; when it's ready for article-space, it will be moved. - Dank (push to talk) 23:43, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

One version of this article, titled Lamboo, which was tagged for deletion and subsequently deleted by me was found to be promotional because it was written mainly to promote Lamboo, Inc., including a link to the company in the start and as a reference. However, I agree that an article about laminated bamboo can certainly be worthwhile. A quick search on Google scholar shows a huge quantity of scholarly research about bamboo laminates. The article needs to be built citing the academic journals -- and resist any linking or citation to companies which manufacture or sell laminated bamboo product.
