An Ode Ray is musical.[edit]

The article Ernst Gehrcke says without qualification that "he discovered anode rays". I do not dispute this because I have not a clue about the matter, but it sits uncomfortably with the article "Anode Rays", which does not mention Gehrcke, but does refer to Goldstein, Wein, and even J.J.Thompson. I would contribute, but it is so far out of my field that it would take too long to be worth while. Comments, anyone?JonRichfield (talk) 11:09, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Folks, this claim has been in the article since 2009. I asked for assistance in 2011. No support is offered for his right to the distinction, in spite of references in the Anode rays article to Crookes and others working on anode rays twenty years earlier, and doing quantitative investigations ten years earlier, than Gehrcke's "discovery" in 1908. Either someone offers adequate details and justifications together with accessible citations, or I shall soon delete these claims, which, as things stand, all sound like buncomb to me.
