Location[edit]

The library location in 1959 is at 13th and Olive. The newest main location replaces that, and is at 10th and Charnelton. --Tesscass (talk) 22:35, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The 1906 Carnegie library building (allegedly the first Carnegie library in Oregon) fronted on Willamette Street at the southeast corner of the 11th Avenue and Willamette Street intersection. My source is vintage photos I have seen of that intersection (and if you Google ″Eugene Oregon Carnegie Library,″ you will find Web pages that corroborate this information). I see that a 1955 news article is cited as saying that a new library would be built on the site of the old. Evidently, however, City leaders changed their minds at some point between that article's publication and the second library building's construction in 1959 (at the southwest corner of Olive Street and West 13th Avenue).

Construction cost[edit]

This page states the construction cost was $26,500,000 USD (2003) https://web.archive.org/web/20120311173802/http://www.shepleybulfinch.com/project/city-of-eugene/L2/ I am not sure the correct way to verify this or add it to the page. Thanks Schmiechen (talk) 01:57, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
