[edit] FINRA and Madoff?
Has FINRA been at all involved in the Madoff investment scandal?--DThomsen8 (talk) 16:33, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- Professor Mercer Bullard has written to criticize FINRA's failure to detect the Madoff problems. Madoff's firm was subject to regulation and examination by FINRA. Bullard says only FINRA, which is not really true - the SEC had oversight and could conduct examinations too - but it is true that FINRA had primary responsibility.
