[edit] Demographics
Is there any official census data about languages spoken in the area? Readers would like to know which percent of the people speak Breton and which percent speak French. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.18.53.73 (talk) 13:27, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- It's pretty clear 100% speak French (up to a few recent immigrants, but Finistere is not traditionally a migratory region to its geographical location). The number of native Breton speakers is very low nowadays, and most are over 80 years old (my grandmother is one of them). These people have been speaking French for over 60 years now. I don't know how many people are bilingual. Breton schools have flourished in the past 20 years, and the kids training there are bilingual. However, all official documents are exclusively in French. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.58.147.83 (talk) 11:02, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
