No reliable sources[edit]

The only reference given for this article is a single website devoted to the alleged light. This is clearly an inadequate source upon which to base a wiki article. Plazak (talk) 14:37, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am from the Baie des Chaleurs area, NB side, and the legend of the ship is well known here, back into the 19th century, although not the legends given in the background here, which I've never heard of. Some better listing of the sightings over the years would be in order, and numerous references in literature over the years. It hasn't been seen in many years, probably because there are no longer any sailing ships -- the image is thought to have been caused by a kind of mirage-like illusion which would explain sightings by crowds, highly respectable witnesses, etc. Sorry I can't explain the science of it better.
