Florence Lawrence - inventor of the first turn and stop signals The above is from the article "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automotive_lighting#Headlamps" and there is a link to this article but no mention in this article. I have no further information on this but I am sure someone has.MisterHOP (talk) 21:43, 11 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I found an MIT article on "inventor of the week" and used it as source material for inserting a section on Florence Lawrence "INVENTIONS". [1]MisterHOP (talk) 19:18, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Year of birth[edit]

Born 1886 as per this biodata. Find-a-Grave is far from reliable, especially since, as in this case, her gravestone was erected many decades after her death by actor Roddy McDowall (see article text), as she had no family and had been buried without a gravestone. Discrepancies[edit]

Essanay reported the offer to Biograph's head office, and they were promptly fired. But then: Needing a star, [Laemmle] lured Lawrence away from Biograph by promising to give her a marquee.

Blaming Solter for making her do the stunt in which she was injured, the two divorced. But then: Her first marriage was to... Harry Solter in 1908. They remained married until Solter's death in 1920. Valetude (talk) 20:29, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
