Merge proposal[edit]

Test match (football) should be merged here as it is the same concept, just under a different (archaic) name -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 12:12, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting one. Test match (football) includes some information not relating to The Football League, though perhaps this could be merged into Play-off#Playoffs in Association_football if appropriate and what's left could be merged here. The concept of the test match is slightly different to the current play-offs, in that it features teams from different divisions, but then again this was also the case when the play-offs started in the 1980s so there is a good logical thread for the article. On that basis I will support this move, as the content would probably sit better as a section within this article than as an article in its own right. --Jameboy (talk) 00:57, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, that's the right call. It shouldn't be merged here because only the title is specific to the English league. I'll merge to Play-off#Playoffs in Association_football. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 13:16, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
